One of the interesting side developments is which allows you to view the users approximate location, or exact location for and see if they are online and makes Chatroulette much more interesting as you can see users by geographically locations.
The site now has a mirror site operating to reduce the load on the main server and this might be part of the reason for a slight drop in visitors to the site, if they are using the Chat Roulette mirror T.VU as it shows 3000% growth in the last month. ВPThe use of a mirror site appears to have dramatically improved the performance of the chat feature and the new rules: 16+, clothes or report appears to have reduce some of the unwanted images seen initially.
The graphs below show that the demographics have also changed with a larger portion of females visiting Chatroulette sinceВPFebruary, there has also been a larger skew towards younger users with graduate school level education. ВPShowing the difference in demographics a massive percentage of visits now appear to be made from School locations which should alarm some parents and teachers based on what is shown on some of the webcams.
Compared to the visitors to Chatroulette during April, we see a large drop in UK & Chinese visitors and a increase in european visitors, and Russia makes an appearance as #6.
Compared to last time it seems that the visitors by country to Chatroulette has been skewed and below are the visitors duringВPFebruary.
Based on the Alexa.com chart shown below it appears as if Chatroulette might have reached its audience peak around the middle of March as has slowed down and started decreasing in daily reach but still manages to rank in the top 1000 websites in the USA.
After my post back on the 15thВPFebruary about the russian site Chat Roulette, this blog posts continues to provide a massive amount of my keyword search traffic, and has surpassed all my previous records for posts and continues to attract visitors. ВPWhile it seems much of the mainstream media appears to have slowed its coverage around the Russian chat site, it still appears to have captured enough interest based on the keywords used to find out more information about it. ВPIve been contacted by other blogs wanting to know if I have any extra information or insight into how the site works or does work from a web marketing perspective so its likely that there is still new media articles being published which should re-ignite interest in the site.
